Does it automatically record live TV well? Can I setup a Watch list that will automatically record a show containing a certain name.
Regarding the card swap, didn't they already crack nagra3 in Europe? The Vendors don't sem to be worried, you don't see the prices on units coming down. That's a great price. Make sure it's not a clone. I am waiting, as soon as we know for sure I want to jump on FTA HD. For now, I'll stick with my Viewsat Ultra!
There is now the new Nfusion HD with PVR functionality, but fromw hat i understand you have to manually record as the PVR functionality is not mature yet. Although I think it is about $100 more expensive than the 8000HD, but I love the fact that it updates automatically, I hate updating bins. Regaridng the Sonicview 8000HD, supposedly the remote response is terrible, although I've heard that remote can be replaced by another universal remote (maybe something like a harmony) and supposedly it fixes the response probelms with the remote. I'm still leaning towards the Sonicview based on the PVR functionality, but the NfusionHD is so tempting with automatic bin udpated through the internet. Mp3 downloader free. Any thoughts? Care to share your experience with the remote on the 8000HD. Theres a lot of buttons on the remote, so I can't just feel where everything is and know exactly where it is.
I usually have to look for it in the dark. It's a little slow, but there others that are worse. It doesn't bother me too much. When it says you can record and watch at the same time. That means you can record one thing, and then watch something else, but it has to be on the same transponder.
ON HD that might be like 1 or 2 other channels, which might not be what you want to watch. I believe it's like that for all HD FTA receivers at the moment. Usually you need to pick the right channel to update the EPG which doesn't take too long once u know what channel it is. Then you just scroll through the time and pick what you record.
Then I just shut off the tv and leave the fta running. You can put it on standby and have it record as well. But sometimes I have problems, like since it's not updating exactly, it'll record but might be off a bit when the programs stars so it might be better to leave it on. The fan is loud.
